ImageIO reads and writes image data in formats including JPEG, PNG, HEIF, and TIFF. It exposes images and their metadata through CGImageSource and CGImageDestination, and supports format detection, decoding, encoding, and access to image properties.
One new API, no deprecations or removals. The addition is the kCGImageSourceAllowableTypes option key, which restricts a CGImageSource to a caller-specified set of image types.
